In short
The year at a glance
New Caledonia wraps French cafes and baguettes around a UNESCO-listed lagoon, the largest on Earth. It sits far enough south to have real seasons: a warm, humid summer, a cool, dry winter, and two shoulder springs. We rate on Noumea, the capital.
The trick here is that the driest months, September to December, are also when the warmth comes back: highs climb from 24 towards 28 with barely 40 to 60 mm of rain a month. Winter, June to August, is sunny but cool, with days around 22 to 23 and a fresh wind. January to March is hot, more humid and the cyclone window.
